Multi Kulti Collective is one of Bulgaria’s leading non-profit organizations working on migrant and refugee integration, countering discrimination, racism, and hate speech, and promoting human rights since 2011. The organization operates at both grassroots and policy levels, with a strong track record in national media campaigns, awareness-raising, arts and culture for social change, innovative training, solid research, and strategic advocacy. It also conducts comprehensive monitoring of national integration policies and policy analysis.
Since 2013, Multi Kulti has been the national coordinator of the European Web Site on Integration (EWSI), the official migrant integration portal of the European Commission. It has been a member of the SIRIUS Policy Network on Migrant Education since 2014. It is also part of the European Network Against Racism ENAR, the International Network Against Cyber Hate INACH, and the EU networks Facing Facts and Volonteurope.
Beyond its non-profit work, Multi Kulti has been empowering migrants through its social enterprise model since 2013. Originally based in Sofia, it expanded into a social franchise in Bulgaria’s eight largest cities in 2015.
For many years, Multi Kulti has built strong media partnerships with Bulgaria’s key national and regional outlets, including Bulgarian National Television, Bulgarian National Radio, various private TVs, radios, magazines, newspapers, and online media. These collaborations have helped amplify its mission and increase public awareness of migration, human rights, and social inclusion.
The organization’s projects have been recognized as best practices by the European Commission, the OECD, and the President of Bulgaria, among others. In 2022, Multi Kulti received the grand prize Human of the Year, awarded by the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee.
