The VOICE project is an 18-month initiative aimed at fostering active European citizenship among migrants and second-generation youth aged 18–35, with a particular focus on women, who often face greater barriers to civic and political participation. In response to growing political disengagement and disillusionment with institutions, VOICE seeks to reconnect young people with democratic processes through inclusive, community-driven initiatives.
Implemented by a consortium from Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria, VOICE addresses three core themes: gender equality, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion. Each partner will establish a local working team involving representatives of diaspora associations, second-generation youth, and migrant communities. Through workshops, cultural events, debates, and online activities, participants will exchange good practices, develop proposals, and strengthen their civic awareness and sense of European citizenship.
Key outputs include the digital guide Your VOICE in Europe, offering practical tools and stories for active citizenship, and the final video One VOICE, Many Stories, documenting participants’ experiences across the partner countries. The project will conclude with Seeds of VOICE, a call for ideas supporting the sustainability of its results and helping create a replicable model for engaging migrants and second-generation youth in democratic life across the EU.
